About Zeta Technologies
Zeta Technologies was founded in 1989.
What does Zeta Technologies do?
Zeta Technologies does what is commonly referred to as Asset Recovery.
In the electronics industry there are a variety of different areas of
asset recovery. These range from purchasing scrap material and
recovering the precious metals from the scrap (we do a very small
amout of this), contracting with OEM's to take in and disposing of
their unwanted material (of all varieties), to purchasing
(financially) distressed assets and reselling them either wholesale or
retail.
For Zeta Technologies, the main portion of what we do is both dispose
of unwanted material for OEM's, and purchase distressed assets and
resell them. The vast majority of our sales are wholesale. We have
found that it takes a considerable amount of additional effort to sell
into the retail marketplace. For us this effort is justified on only
a small percentage of our sales. However, there are times when it is
definitely cost-justified for us to sell into the retail marketplace
(some disk drives, and other materials).
We sell equipment in a variety of different methods, depending on the
type of material.
Wholesale
:
We have periodic lists of specific types of material which we send out
to dealers. These lists are requests for offers on the various
different types of material. Usually there is about a week in which
to get responses back to us. We will then sell to the highest offer.
However, the sale is "with reserve", which means we are not
required to accept the high offer.
Retail
:
From time to time we also sell material into the retail marketplace.
However, we almost always prefer to sell material wholesale.
Components:
We sell a variety of components (passive, active, sub-assemblies,
etc.) which we sell to both dealers and OEM's. Pricing for these
components is almost always well below market (see the link on pricing
in the component listing).
